The Mysterious Black Panther, always a favorite in jungle stories and movies, has never failed to fascinate and intrigue his fans. This beautiful animal is part of a group of large cats, genus panthera, which contains lions, tigers, leopards, and jaguars. Today, the name Panther is usually limited to black animals, but at one time all of these animals were collectively referred to as panthers. The name panther is derived from the Greek pan (all) and thera (hunter) because they can hunt and kill almost anything.
